Exit poll tight race in Bengal, BJP ahead in Assam
TMC likely to Return to power- Times Now
Exit poll on Thursday forecast tight contest in West Bengal, between BJP and TMC. While the ruling left combine was projected to retain power in Kerala and sow case for in Assam. However, exit poll projected DMK led opposition alliance as a winner in Tamil Nadu, while the Congress led alliance was seen losing the neighboring Puducherry by some pollsters. As the first exit polls began getting telecast soon after the eight phase elections ended in West Bengal. The ruling TMC was seen in a tight contest with the BJP in assembly polls for the politically important state.
In West Bengal the Republic CNX polls gave a slight edge by protecting 138-148 seats for the party in the 294 seat assembly. However, Times Now C voter predicted a clear majority for the TMC by projecting 162 seats for the party and 115 for the BJP.
Strong Majority of BJP in Bengal- Jan ki Baat exit polls
Other way Jan Ki Baat exit polls, however predicted a strong majority for the BJP IN West Bengal. Meanwhile, West Bengal saw 76.09 % voter turnout tell 5 pm in 35 assembly constituencies. Polling was held between 7am and 6.30 pm in 11 assembly constituencies each in Murhidabad and Birhum districts. The election commission deployed 641 companies of security forces for the final phase. Votes will be counted on May 2.
